How to Connect Your Restaurant to ChatGPT or Claude

Plenty of restaurant owners already keep an AI assistant on their phone. ChatGPT to write an email, Claude to think out loud about the menu. What is new is that the assistant can see your venue: what is waiting, who has not had a reply, which posts are ready. And draft content you approve with one tap.

The standard behind it is called MCP. You do not need to know more about it than this: it is the same for Claude, ChatGPT and whatever comes next. One connection, every assistant.

What the assistant can do

Ask, and it answers. For example:

  • "What is waiting at my venue today?" It answers with drafts awaiting approval, guests without a reply, and posts that failed. The same numbers as the home screen in the app.
  • "Who has not had a reply?" It lists messages, comments and reviews, and flags anyone who left one or two stars.
  • "Draft a post about the Friday menu with the photo of the fish soup." The draft lands in the app. You read it there and tap yes or no.
  • "Suggest a reply to the review from Stine." The suggestion is ready. You send it, not the assistant.

What it is never allowed to do

It cannot publish. It cannot reply to guests. It cannot change your subscription. It cannot delete anything. Everything that reaches the outside world goes through you in the app. That is not a limit we bolted on afterwards, it is the whole idea: the assistant prepares, you decide.

Access lasts 30 days at a time and can be revoked whenever you like under Settings → Connect AI. You always see which app is asking for access before you say yes.

How to set it up (5 minutes)

  1. Sign in to SOMESimplify. Go to Settings → Connect AI. The address you need is there.
  2. In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste the address. Claude sends you to us to sign in and grant access.
  3. In ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors → turn on Developer mode → Create. Paste the address. Requires a Plus plan or above, and works in the browser.
  4. Approve on our page. Then you are back in the assistant, and you can ask: "What is waiting at my venue?"

Why it matters

The main reason social media goes quiet for a restaurant is not a lack of photos. It is that the work lives inside an app you have to remember to open. When the assistant you already talk to can say "three guests are waiting for a reply, and the Friday post is ready", it becomes one question instead of a routine. And a question you answer.

Works with Claude and ChatGPT today. Gemini and others will follow once they open custom connections to ordinary users. If there is an assistant we should test against, tell us.
